Muyiwa, all documents it's still there but is hidden. If you want to recover some files, first you must find a solution to re-enable "Show hidden files" option from Windows.Usually is very difficult to escape the effects of a trojan virus. But you must try this:

1. In safe mode, type "msconfig" in RUN then go to "Startup" tab and uncheck all. Press OK, restart yor PC.
2. Try to download Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and start scan your PC. After, if WMSRT found any virus and remove`it, open Re-Enable 2.0 check all option and press "Re-Enable" Button, Restart You PC.
If you fail please come back with a reply and will try to help you.
